Book clubs really have a way of bringing people together…. That is what I found when my two friends at church started a book club for local artists and creatives.

During the study the art technique ‘Kintsugi’ came up in discussion. Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with lacquer dusted powdered gold. This mending of pieces to make something broken, beautiful, became a mantra for our group.

I designed this poster with the help of my book group. We pulled words and phrases from the book we were studying to highligh in the poster design. Stylistically, I designed this poster to look like a wood cut, though I created it with vector software.
